PROFILE

Shauna's first touch of a volleyball was in Penang, Malaysia where she was living from '94 to '98. Born in South Africa she travelled the world until, at the age of 15, the family returned to the United Kingdom and settled in Edinburgh.
She joined "Team Edinburgh" Volleyball team rose from the 3rd division to the first division in three consecutive years. Playing indoor Shauna also represented Great Britain at the World University Games in Diego, South Korea in 2003, and was capped for Scotland both as a junior and senior player.

Although a committed indoor player, the off season of 2006 saw Shauna start her beach volleyball career, and later that year she represented GB at the World University Games in Cyprus, this time as a beach volleyball player. Returning from the Games she was offered a place at Bath to train full time, which she didn't have to think twice about.

As well as training Shauna used her first year in Bath to gain an MSc in Marketing to add to her Ma in Management and Business Law.

2009 Saw Shauna forge a committed partnership with Zara Dampney. The girls competed for the full season on the 2009 FIVB World Tour, rising from 80th in the World rankings to finish the season at 36th. Shauna's dream aspiration and goal of playing at Horse Guards Parade is now firmly in her sights as team Dampney/Mullin had for the 2012 Olympics in London.

The Olympics turned out to be successful for Shauna, team Dampney Mullin against the odds reached the last 16 where they were narrowly beaten by Austria. Cheered on throughout their Olympic adventure by a raucous 15,000 sell out crowd at Horse Guards Parade Shauna and teammate Zara really rose to the occasion. Shauna already has her sights fixed firmly on the Rio Olympics in four years time.
